Selection Panel
The Selection Panel consists of:
  • Up to two external members (invited from local/overseas universities)
  • One student representative nominated by the Students’ Union
  • One member invited from the Convocation/Alumni Association
  • Deans/Principal or nominees (one from each College/School and the CCCU)
  • One most recent recipient of the award (invited by the QAC Chair)
  • Up to three nominees invited by the QAC Chair. One nominee will serve as the Chair of the Selection Panel.
The TEA winners will be selected from the shortlist of candidates by means of:
  • Observation by the selection panel of teaching activities;
  • A 10-minute presentation to the panel;
  • A 20-minute panel interview.

Heads of teaching units (Department/Division/School/Centre etc.) will be asked to comment on the nominations. Where circumstances warrant, the Selection Panel may decide to conduct peer reviews or gather additional opinions from focus group discussions with students and staff members, such as associate heads, programme leaders and course tutors.

The Selection Panel will be responsible for the final selection, which includes classroom observation of teaching, a presentation by the candidate to the Panel, and an interview.
