In this Information Age, students face the challenge of information explosion. They have problems finding their desired information efficiently, identifying quality information in the sea of information available (especially on the Internet) and using the information they find ethically. As information search skills, and the evaluation and ethical use of information is important to life-long learning, this course will discuss these issues and explore the ways in which secondary school teachers can help to instill in their students better search skills and the ethics of information use.
The OAPS (Outstanding Academic Papers by Students) project, an endeavour of City University of Hong Kong Library to encourage academic honesty and integrity, will also be introduced.
