Session Outline:
This course will discuss ways in which a variety of classroom activities may be developed to support and expand students' extensive viewing activities. It will focus on the type of texts used in school-based assessments, considering how students can be helped to cope with challenging texts and how this can lead to language practice beyond the immediate requirements of assessment. A large part of this course will consist of a workshop where participants will brainstorm and generate ideas.
