Life education has been talked about for many years in Hong Kong and in neighboring countries. Most of them emphasises on the education of "living". Indeed, life education should embrace areas much wider than that. Students need to learn about themselves, living with others, living in an environment and how to protect it; the meaning of life and death; and the importance of ethics and morality in their growth.
The course content will include how to build the substance of life education and how to use it to facilitate the learning and the growth of students throughout their study in schools. This is very important to students in the secondary schools. With a good life education in their adolescent stage, students would be able to deal with the challenges and stress that they encounter in their future life in career, family, culture and social interactions.
