Session Outline: Originated at Motorola and GE in the 1980s, Six Sigma is a proven methodology for the manufacturing industry, designed to upgrade the quality of its processes and products in order to satisfy critical customer expectations. In recent years, Six Sigma has attracted a lot of attention from many service industries, such as banks, hotels, property management companies, government agencies and education providers, all of whom are eager to improve their services to their valuable customers. Through presentations, games and simple exercises, this course will brief participants on: a) the basic methodology of Six Sigma, including its well-known Define-Measure-Analyse-Improve-Control (DMAIC) model; b) how to understand critical customer expectations; c) how to define a meaningful project that needs improvement; and d) how to assess the capability of an existing operation, etc. Insights will be shared among participants concerning how Six Sigma can be applied in their daily lives.
